Need Your Help, Utah!

I'm going to be in Orem (near Provo), Utah, next week and am in need of some great restaurants to try. I'm there for business, and am completely unfamiliar with the territory. It's about 45 minutes outside of Salt Lake, but unfortunately that city is not an option for me as I will not have time to drive back and forth from Salt Lake to Orem.

If anyone has any suggestions for good dinner places, and, better yet, if anyone wants to meet up with a fellow food blogger for dinner, please let me know!

Thanks!

P.S. I drink alcohol...so dry restos aren't really my thing.

Good luck with the drinking bit in the Provo area. It's even stricter than SLC. People are really nice though.

I live in the Provo/Orem area. There are some of the usual resaturants such as PF Changs, California Pizza Chicken, Red Lobster and Olive Garden all in the same area. If you want something more unique try India Garden, Shoots, Magelby's, Tucanos, GoodWood or Carraba's Italian Grill. There is also a more pricey restaurant called The Chef's Table and the food is out of this world! I am Mormon and don't drink, but most of the restaurants are not as "dry" as everyone thinks. You can usually get a glass of wine or a beer with your meal. Good Luck!

Places that aren't chains: Asuka, has a tepanyaki "show" & all you can eat sushi for $13.99+tax. Also try Guru's, yummy, yummy! I have heard GREAT things about The Chef's Table, but be sure to get reservations & dress is upscale casual to formal. Oh, yeah & across the street from Asuka is a place called Puddin on the Rice. Rice pudding!! Too bad you can't make it to Salt Lake or I would have a couple more suggestions such as middle eastern, himalayan & a couple of really nice brew pubs. Shame.

Oh & tell Robin that she does have a reader in Utah or I wouldn't be here-LOL!

Utahns LOVE Cafe Rio. I don't live there now, but I did live in Provo for 7 years and I dream about the salads at Cafe Rio sometimes. It's very casual, but it would make for a great lunch. Their salads with creamy tomatillo dressing is to die for. I also love Magleby's.

I live in Provo/Orem. I left a list of places that are unique and delicious to this area on Robyn's site. J. Dawg's, The Brick Oven, Sweet's Polynesian Grill, Los Hermanos, and The Bombay House to name a few. An Italian place that's only in Provo and American Fork. Ottavios. Really, really delicious.
